From a box of C9 bulbs to 110,000 lights
The short version of how one family's holiday decorating turned into a full musical light show in Lakewood Ranch.

The early years
It all started at an early age: waiting for November to roll around, getting the holiday decorations down in the garage, untangling the lights and changing out all the old C9 bulbs before we started hanging the outside decorations. Every year we added more and more until we ran out of room.

New homes, bigger ideas
As time passed, every move and relocation brought a new home to decorate. Standard lights could only go so far, and I kept looking to do more. Then along came the world of visual animation.

2021
I was introduced to a whole new world called xLights. With xLights you are only limited by your imagination, the space outside to create your visual works of art, and your bank account.

2023
The show doubled in size and nearly tripled in light count, landing just shy of 100,000 total lights.

2025
The show keeps growing. Older props got upgrades and new props joined the display, bringing the light count close to 110,000.
